Courtney Wotherspoon

Opening – Wednesday, April 8th, 2009 6-9:30 p m Barbershop Gallery 1718 Queen St West.
THE SUPERLATIVE ORDER consists of internationally shown artists, Adam Hilborn, Elizabeth Dyer, and Courtney Wotherspoon. Each artist’s individual approach to portraiture reflects a contemporary alternative to the traditional form. THE SUPERLATIVE ORDER examines the human condition by returning to conventional methods of drawing and painting, and in doing so, transcends the historically established aesthetic value of portraiture. The final product reflects the actions, emotions and environment that surround the subjects. Using fragments of contemporary life, THE SUPERLATIVE ORDER explores the narrative component creating a balance between composition and portrayal.

Simon Blackfoot Opening
Last Thursday Parishil co-founder Alain Parizeau had his opening for the Simon Blackfoot art show at the Barbershop Gallery in Toronto. His art is influenced by a month long canoe trip in Canada's northern frontier and captures the simple beauty of the nature and the eccentric adventurers that live there. The show was very well received and is up until the end of the month, please come by and check it out!!!!
