Pre-viewing dinner for Adam Hilborn's Homeward Bound show

Selected guest were invited to enjoy an evening dinner in the Barbershop Gallery the night before the official opening of Adam Hilborn's 'Homeward Bound' art show. Food was provided by the Les Louises chefs from Royal Canada Ballet. Guest got to dine with the artist, getting to know him and understand his approach to art and this specific series.

Hors D'oeuvres

Moroccan lamb popsicles with eggplant basil sauce

Mini crab cakes with wild mushrooms and caramelized onion triangles

Dinner

Chilled tomato consommé

Arugula with red and golden terrines and hazelnut praline

Seared Halibut with a fresh tomato, pancetta and enoki mushroom ragout, spring onion mash and zucchini ribbons

Bruléed peach and vanilla bean mini pavlovas

Movie Night

The Barbershop Gallery hosted the first of many $4 Movie Night yesterday. The casual and intimate evening featured four shorts and one feature by local film makers. The night aims to showcase local directors and offer budge friendly entertainment for the neighborhood. The night was a success with a full house. Wandering Portraitists Review on Blog TO

Simon Blackfoot Opening

Last Thursday Parishil co-founder Alain Parizeau had his opening for the Simon Blackfoot art show at the Barbershop Gallery in Toronto. His art is influenced by a month long canoe trip in Canada's northern frontier and captures the simple beauty of the nature and the eccentric adventurers that live there. The show was very well received and is up until the end of the month, please come by and check it out!!!!

44 Oz's Group Show Next Week

On Friday the 19th of February Barbershop Gallery will be hosting a groupshow featuring work inspired by the freshly elected 44th President of the United States. It has been a lonnnnnng time since a political figure, let alone an American one, instilled the world with so much hope and promise. Yes the current state of the world seems to be in shambles with multiple financial crisis, political instability abroad,  and A-rod using steroids. But the public have placed a great deal of faith in this man. And even if Obama and his team do not fix everything in one term, they have still forced Americans to rethink about the nature of political discourse and the importance of being involved in politics. So come celebrate as some of the city's biggest talents display their artistic interpretation of the drunken hope that Obama brings on his first visit to the great white north! 

Barbershop Grand Opening War Child Campaign 2009

Barbershop Gallery was opened in the fall of 2008 by Parshil Studio in Toronto.  It's first  official show was the creative work done by Parishil for the 2009 War Child national  campaign in partnership with John St Media. The opening took place in early December and drew a large crowd of clients, friends, and curious pedestrians for a very enjoyable Thursday evening.  The event was made possible by the generous help of RedBull Canada, Malibu, Les Louises Catering , and DJ Dopey.
