Over the course of two days in july Alexi Parizeau captured the process of Adam Hilborn's first solo show "HOMEWARD BOUND" at the Barbershop Gallery. The camera was capturing images every 3 seconds with a Canon 5D Mk2 and 24mm 1.4F lens, tethered to a laptop.

The first night was a special invitation "Dinner with the Artist". The Dinner was prepared by Justine and Sara Wood of Les Louises. Friends and family we're asked to attend the private viewing. (please see previous blog "pre-viewing dinner" for more details)

The following evening "HOMEWARD BOUND" was open to the public.

Anna Panchev "Imagery to Your Altitude"

In her first solo show "Imagery to Your Altitude", Anna Panchev creates a split environment between the surreal and almost tangible. One can lost in the intricacies and small corners of this world. Beautiful optical and chaotic randomness somehow create a sense of serenity. Lots is left for the viewer to explore.

50 Artists 50 Photos

Last week Barbershop Gallery presented 50 artists 50 photos with Blog TO for the Contact film festival. The portraits are of 50 local promising artists that are also featured on Blog TO's website. The opening went on until the wee hours of the morning and featured an amazing line up of Dj's ( ie: Dave Binette from Shit La Merde and Andy Capp from Bang the Party) projections courtesy of Kineticform, as well as some amazing baked treats courtesy of Sugar Baking. The show is up during the entire duration of the Contact festival and all are available for purchase with proceeds going to Sketch, a local non profit that fosters arts based learning for street youth.
